    5 Star Service
    |

WE ARE SO GLAD WE STAYED AT VIETSTAR!! May July, the hotel manager, is extremely kind and accommodating; she became a great friend during out stay.

Vietstar would typically be out of our price range but due to our circumstances and time of night, we got upgraded to Superior Double Room that included breakfast buffet (which had lots of amazing options, but was a bit cold). Since we arrived late, the restaurant stayed open late to serve us and gave us a surprise birthday dessert (it was my boyfriend's birthday)! The service was exceptional and the food was unreal!

This is not your typical Vietnamese experience. We were treated like King and Queen! We were driven by electric car everywhere around the resort. There is a massive pool that is really warm, yet refreshing. The pool has a waterfall and connects to another big pool that has stools for a pool bar (was not set up due to low season). There is a small zoo, golfing course, tennis court (which we took advantage of -- it was about $7 USD to play), a gym, and a spa.

Since there was a company event organized through Vietstar, we got the opportunity to have a sunset dinner on Xep beach the second night, in which the restaurant manager sat with us to determine our meal and pricing beforehand!! The food was extremely reasonable (for westerners it was not expensive at all, but for Vietnamese and/or backpackers it would be a tad pricey). THE SEAFOOD WAS SUPER DELICIOUS! You MUST try the Vietnamese lemongrass clams and the coconut prawns! Afterwards we went to the coffee bar and tried many of their cocktails and coffee specials. Yummy!

The room was beyond comfy and huge! The bathroom was like no other, it had a big jacuzzi with a head rest, massive glass shower, and 2 sinks. The bed was huge and cozy, the room had wifi, air conditioning, fridge, safe, and was quiet.

May July (the hotel manager) also helped us arrange bus tickets for Nha Trang and got us our Vietnamese SIM card topped up in a matter of seconds! If you are looking to relax and be pampered, then you NEED TO COME HERE.
Kỳ nghỉ yên tĩnh, bình lặng
    |

    Lovely resort

This is first time I stay here. Everything here make me feel comfortable.
I understand last time resort is low occupancy so I am really enjoy and relax. Staff is friendly. Specially Ms. Hang - FO lady who receive my booking as last minute and give room rate never better.
However having something I would like to share
    1. Upon check in FO should introduce more your activities and facilities as swimming pool, gym etc... Better should prepare resort map for guests. BOD should consider shuttle bus to bring guest to down town with F.O.C.
    2. Breakfast should have more food selection. Moreover flan cake kitchen should make same same with yogust because big one is not good idea.
    3. Pool service I did not see any staff there to give towel and sunchair have some. I felt you make staff clear compensation leave as low occupancy.
    4. In room need more details as set up more picture. Power slot did not work when I took key card out. I don't know how resort to save electric.
My room has outdoor bathtub but seem hot water system is not enough to provide into bathtub.
Light system should have electric master control beside bed.
One more thing check out time make me confuse 13h00 as in room directory or 12h00 as information from guest service.
Anyway I will come back this lovely resort.

    good place for relaxing

We stayed here for 3 nights and love it here. Woke up early in the morning, felt the fresh of the tree and sun, it was just perfect ! Spa and the food were good. Facilities were good. Excellent value for money ! Definitely coming back here.
Easily Meets and Matches High Expectations, Possibly Exceeding in Some Areas
    |

This is surely among the best and most amazing resorts of its kind in Vietnam, and possibly in all Southeast Asia, after you factor in quite reasonable room rates and the privacy element if the resort is not operating at full capacity. Some of the structures built on complicated hilly terrain are simply masterpieces of engineering.

I usually do not write hotel reviews as I stay for 150 to 200 nights a year in hotels, mostly in Asia-Pacific and Europe, and there is no time to provide meaningful reviews of all of them. Hence this is the only review I have on Tripadvisor for now (in case you wondered). I researched thoroughly and asked for local advice before my first trip to Vietnam, and ultimately decided to try the Vietstar Resort for the leisure part of the trip. I was very curious to experience the resort, and how it compares to similar hotels in nearby countries. When asked by the management to provide comments after the stay, I thought this public form of review might benefit future guests the most. Disclaimer: I paid for my own 1-week stay.

This is essentially a hill resort with a beach access by electric cars. It is typically Vietnamese in many ways. First, the location. Yes, this is rural Vietnam, luckily not saturated by mass tourism, at least not yet. Best access is by a direct flight either from HCMC or Hanoi. The resort can provide private transport from the airport which I think works out the same price as by taxi. There is a small village near the resort which has 2 markets where you can buy fruits and vegetables, but not any bigger shops for instance thus you will depend on the resort for catering. The nearest city Tuy Hoa is about USD 7 taxi ride away, one way, approx. 10 km. Again this is a nice city not frequented by foreigners giving you a friendly Vietnamese experience. First and foremost, you are likely to come to Vietstar to experience the resort ambiance though and staying in and in the vicinity of the resort is quite fine even for longer periods of time.

The rooms. I split my stay between a Deluxe and Suite room. Both were in great condition, varying from generous 60 to 80 sqm in size. The windows were well screened for insects and open bathroom area worked out well for that reason. Complimentary water albeit in small bottles is provided along with tea and coffee in room. The resort is quite large, and some rooms will require you to use electric cars (the mode for internal transport within the resort) more often than others, therefore discuss your room requirements with the helpful front office. Suites are quite secluded with nice views while most Deluxe rooms are closer to the pool. There are also some cheaper rooms and then larger villas consisting of 2 to 3 bedrooms, some with a private swimming pool. At the cost of around 3 times the regular rooms, they can be a bargain for bigger groups or a family given the extra privacy. Again, depends on your requirements.

About facilities. The pool is big and has a long canal to swim in. The most surprising part however is the kitchen, more on that below. Unlike some other reviewers, I quite liked the mushroom theme and do think every decorative element or detail fits in very well into the environment. The beach had some occasional plastic bag waste but was in general well maintained with chairs and towels available. The resort has a small zoo and a golf range plus spa (treatments are on the expensive side though). Gardens and grounds are well maintained.

The service. Well, this is rural Vietnam so do not expect fluent English. The front office speaks English though and everyone tried very hard to communicate. Obviously some are more confident in their English skills, some less. Although spoken Vietnamese will probably remain a challenge for a casual visitor, it does make sense to try to learn some, at least numbers, for instance to be able to communicate your room number to the bellboy. It will help to establish a better rapport with resort employees (you will depend on bellboys as they also drive the electric cars). In general I found that in every department at least one person was able to speak acceptable English and usually these people also provided the best and most personalised and friendly service. A few times I really enjoyed truly memorable highly polished 5-star-worth service at the best international standard/level which more than compensated for perhaps one or two less stellar or indifferent encounters during my short stay. You have to keep in mind that tourism in Vietnam is still in early stages and people have limited skills and experience – I would highly praise the resort for being able to provide such a service quality given its location and the fact most employees come from the local village (and that many guests are actually Vietnamese). After identifying employees most eager to speak English, please spend a few moments to give them a chance to practice their skills on you.

What I liked the most was the privacy. I stayed during a shoulder season in early February and there were only a few individual guests with some occasional MICE events. MICE guests were mainly Vietnamese and they did not seem to use the pool or the beach. So pay attention to seasons, it was still quite windy at the beach and this prevented me trying out the private island owned by the resort across the beach as waves were simply too high to undertake the boat trip. Even during high season I do not think the resort gets too packed to enjoy.

Restaurants and food. Resort has one of the best kitchens in the area, well exceeded my expectations. The menu is varied and prices at mid-end HCMC bistro level, far lower than expensive restaurants in HCMC. The buffet breakfast was fresh and varied and had equal selection of Vietnamese and Western food (keep in mind most guests can be Vietnamese). Eggs cooked as per your order. To offer suggestions for improvement, for a 5-star tropical resort one would expect freshly squeezed fruit juice at buffet breakfast and perhaps the cheese selection could have been more varied. Fresh juices were however available in special breakfasts. The food itself was slightly varied from day to day so even longer stays were well catered for. The pastry selection was good as well.

To sum up, this resort is suitable for different types of guests, from conferences to individual tourists, and everyone is well taken care of. I do not think you will be able to find a better place to stay in this price range in this part of Vietnam. The hotel gives you unique insights into a relaxing Vietnamese-style hill resort life. Do visit the top of the hill for the best views of the area, enjoy the friendly village and visit the beach (new beach just about to open). The lovely front office manager will go out of her way to make your stay a special one, only that please do not abuse her willingness to assist you in any matter – she has also a right for a occasional day off, and simpler requests can be communicated directly to respective staff members who are equally eager to provide outstanding service.
    Excellent value for money

Don`t miss staying at the Vietstar...........either for 2 nights, or as we did, nearly a week. The rooms were excellent.........especially the traveller suites (we tried two different villas).
Facilities were really good........slightly un-Western concrete statues were initially off-putting, but before long just added to the genuine charm of this place.
I cannot praise the staff enough. From the front of office staff (200%), to the bar and waiting staff, and the gardeners, everyone appeared genuinely to want you to love the place.
Although the beach is a 10 min free buggy ride away, the journey itself was fascinating. PLEASE then use the free pushbikes to cycle through the village after 4pm.(time important as the temperature is wonderful, and coincides with people herding the cows back home) Incredible. Everyone from 2-80 years old waves, smiles , says hello.....we were invited into one home for can of cola/ chewy cakes by a farmer and 3 adult children, who then posed for photos (only after the dad went to change into his best trousers!)
In 5 years Vietnam will change beyond recognition....grab a stay at this icon whilst you can.
Initially planned just an overnight stay that turned into three lovely days spent in the Tuy Hoa!
    |

My girlfriend and I were travelling in Vietnam last December. Our root was from the Danang via down to Phan Thiet/Mui Ne and finally to Ho Chi Minh. As a trip from Danang to Phann Thiet takes some time we decided to find some place for overnight stay. For a reason we didn't want to come to Nha Trang which for someone would seem to be a logical choice, but we decided on Tuy Hoa and VietStar resort. And that was actually one of the best impressions we had in Vietnam!

There were not that many gusts in the Resort at that moment therefore we had everything as personal service! Free upgrade to premium room with big bathroom. Romantic swimming in nice and big pool at late evening when we arrived, excursion around the resort which has huge territory, private zoo, golf field and very nice and luxury villas. Being together alone on a private beach where we were transported with a golf car and complemented with a cup of green tea was unforgettable too!
But that was not actually all. Now, after some time I have realized why the hotel actually named VietStar… It is because of a real star running this huge place – resort manager Einda! She was very nice, helpful, customer oriented and friendly. She is real professional and knows how to make guests happy.

Even though we planned to leave Tuy Hoa next morning we decided to stay there 2 more days which we spent in the SPA with a very nice Japanese sauna, on the beach and also took a ride to the town. Einda and her assistant Tatiana from Russia were so kind to escort us there for shopping, sightseeing and cheap juice and milk shakes. )

I would really love to come to VietStar again, perhaps, this time rent a villa with a private pool and give a hug to Enida!
We were there in a stormy week and we still found it a very good stay
    |

Tuy Hoa is an emerging tourism spot and considering that it owes some amazing landscapes such as Ganh Da Dia, Dai Lanh Apex (the easternmost point of mainland Vietnam), O Loan Lagoon, its tourism industry should get better investment and it would be more crowded.

We booked the two biggest villas there in Vietstar and we were impressed with the resort itself, in terms of huge gardens, good care of the surroundings, excellent customer services, nice long swimming pool, etc. etc. The foods were good as well.

We were there for a seminar and the only funny thing about this is the function room, which was on top of the mountain. It gave a great view over the sea and the city, and because of heavy rains, we all had to take the resort's bus to go there several times a day :)). The resort manager offered us a free electric bus tour around the resort (the whole mountain I must say) and to its private beach (which was 4 kms from the resort), which would be an excellent tour for jogging, if the weather allowed. From the tour, I understood that the villas have two options: resort villa with or without self-services (I mean kitchen facilities).

I felt impressed with the place and decided to book another stay for my coming family's holiday. Travel is quite convenient, we can take the bus from Nha Trang, take the train from Danang or take the flight from Hanoi and HCMC.

One thing that could be better is the check out process which could be faster. An other recommendation is don't eat the boar. The boars are fed in the resort mini "zoo" and they are also listed in the menu , anyway it was not at the standard of the cost. Other than that, the local cuisine served by the resort is very good.
    Wonderful stay at VietStar Resort
    |

We spent a week at this lovely resort and really enjoyed ourselves. Beautiful extensive gardens, and first class accommodation. Our suit was very large with a very big impressive bathroom.

The swimming pool was very clean and like the grounds well maintained. And we made full use of the electric bus to enjoy the private clean beach and visit the local village.

We had a number of meals at the resort restaurant and found the meals OK, but being vegetarians we did not always find that what we were looking for. Price wise the meals were very reasonable

We can highly recommend this resort, it is exceptional value. If we are in the area again it would be top of our list.

Finally we found Ms Aye Einda Swe, the front office manager, always very caring and she did everything possible to ensure our holiday stay at the resort would be perfect. Thank you. It was appreciated.

Just another note. We also stayed at Avani but found the beach not as clean and a little cut off from everything. We preferred VietStar

Vietstar Resort for comfort but also a bit strange
    |

This was a strange place. It was deserted when we were there. And therefore a lot was closed. It had very large rooms and a huge swimming pool with an artificial waterfall. It looked like paradise. But it did not feel that way. The beach with really very blue and clear water was 5 km away. You could go to the beach with the electric golf cars. This takes 15 minutes and they also pick you up. In high season it is fully booked by the Russians. The menu was also in russian. The employees spoke very poorly English and the food was really a disaster. It was tasteless and very expensive. It has potential but we thought it was a bit over the top.
