very nice but bit off the grid

I would have given 5 stars but the location is a bit off if you're into convienece. There are shops on the main road and a few eateries bit it's not downtown HCM. So be warned.
The apartments are very comfy and spacious. We got upgraded to a 3 bedded instead of a 2. Kudos for that. All ensuite to boot! Theres also a full sized kitchen with a washer for laundry.
Staff here are very pleasant and obliging. There's a scheduled shuttle that takes you downtown and back. Breakfast is good but don't expect a massive spread. It's very adequate and they do strive to provide a bit of variety. Very good overall.
Wonderful peaceful hotel not too far from city.

Stayed here for 2 nights with our 3 teenagers.
Everyone loved the place and the city.
Apartment (4bed) was spacious and furnished/decorated beautifully.
Much better than having a couple of rooms in hotel!
River views from balconies are superb; it is quite nice sitting watching the working river go by.
Moon River restaurant is 5 min walk away
Staff are wonderful and work well to help you with any arrangements.
We were sorry to leave this special place!
    Nice room but isolated hotel

Whilst the hotel and staff are very nice and would probably qualify for a 4 star rating, the property is let down by its location which is a long way out from District 1 and in an area devoid of any bars or restaurants you can walk out to.

When we were there the hotel was very quiet and as such their was no atmosphere and if you wanted a drink at the bar or by the pool you needed to first go and find a member of staff. When you did find them they were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel advertises that they provide a speedboat shuttle service to District 1, this was no longer operational when we stayed.

Overall a nice enough hotel with big clean apartments.

If you are considering staying here, make sure you are happy with the location restrictions before you book.
Initial relax in Saigon before backpacking

Lovely hotel, we got upgraded to a 3 bed apartment which was huge and on floor four with great views !
Nice food and a lovely pool near the river.
Great free fast motorboat trip to floating island as booking for 3 days.
Polite and helpful so we decided to stay two extra nights to do some
    Work before chilling out.
    Good wifi too for
    Free.

About 15 minutes out of the real crazy centre which was lovely and relaxing and a great locals restaurant 200 yards out the front
and left of the hotel - moon river.
    Perfect for a stopover

We booked a 3 room apartment for 4 adults and 4 small children and were upgraded to 4 bedrooms when we arrived [although they didn't say anything]. Fantastic views all round, spacious living room with views onto the river, 3 toilets [or possibly 4], 3 bathrooms. Friendly, obliging staff - part of our group arrived a few minutes after the restaurant closed but they still agreed to cook and deliver to the apartment [delicious too!]. Bought up cold beers. The huge fridge had ice on tap. Breakfast on the river was lovely. We asked if they had Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk which they didn't but offered to make - or go and get. It is not in the centre of town but as we were just flying in and out this wasn't a problem. Nice big kids' playroom for younger children and pool. It's not luxury but it was spot on!
Lovely relaxing hotel in busy Ho Chi Minh

We stayed here for 3 nights and despite booking a 2 bed apt, like most other reviewers we were upgraded to a 3 bedroom river view apt, which was lovely and which my kids were grateful of as they didn't need to share a room.

The apartment itself was lovely, beautifully furnished and well equipped. The only downside was the balcony furniture. Very rigid and hard and felt like you were being tortured when you sat in the chair, which was a shame as the views were amazing so it would have been nice to sit outside with a glass of wine.

On site there are two pools (one I think is shallow), a fairly well equipped gym, a bar with reasonably priced meals and a small grocery store. There are also local stores on the street. Breakfast was reasonable, pork bacon which is always a bonus in Asia, with a chef to cook eggs/ omelettes/ waffles etc. Not a huge choice of cereal and the bread, whilst delicious, had a tendency to turn stale as the morning progressed. But the location for breakfast, on a floating restaurant on the river, was wonderful and so peaceful. In fact I can't imagine there is anywhere else in HCMC where you can sit outside for breakfast and for it to be so peaceful.

The pool was ok although there aren't many loungers and most of them are in the shade in the afternoon so not ideal if you want to sunbathe. There are a lot of flowers dropping off the trees into the water but the water itself didn't seem particular dirty. It is on the side of the building next to the karaoke bar next door so if you are lucky you may get entertained by someone murdering a chart hit next door ;-)

Staff were helpful and friendly, always accommodating. Check your bills though and also check your mini bar when you arrive as ours was missing two mars bars that they tried to charge us for.

There is also a small art gallery, which at the moment has the freakiest sculptures in there I have ever seen. I think they could feature in an episode of doctor who!

Unfortunately the speedboat wasn't operating when we were there but the bus is just as efficient and was easy to find for the return journey too.

In all we had a lovely relaxing stay in an otherwise hectic holiday and we would certainly return if we go back to Ho Chi Minh city
Great place to relax and enjoy especially after all the hussle and bussle of sight seeing around Ho Chi Minh

Would really like to thank all the staff for our great stay. My husband, son and myself so enjoyed Ho Chi Minh city, but so looked forward in coming back to The Domaine after a day in the city. Spacious, good food and drink, relaxing swim, great! Only thing I could suggest is maybe bath robes. Would like to have used the gym as looked errr...inviting!, seriously was well equipped. And the art gallery was interesting! Will try and up load photo!!
Lovely oasis away from the city

We were a group of four sharing a 3 bedroom apartment on our first visit to Vietnam. While the apartments are a little bit away from the main tourist area this did not really cause us any issues. The apartment was spacious and a nice home away from home. The breakfast was fine and it was nice to sit by the river in the morning. It was unfortunate that the River shuttle was not operating but this wasn't the hotel's fault. The van shuttle service was on time while a taxi from District one back to the hotel ranged from 122,000 to 170,000 Dong or less than US$10 if we missed the last shuttle or wanted to head back early. The front office staff were helpful and organised a tour to the Tunnels for us ,exchanged currency and organised the taxi on the last day with exceptional efficiency. We had the ability to cook our own meals in the apartment but we ate a number of meals at the hotel which were all reasonably priced. Thanks to the lovely bar staff. Would happily stay here again.
    A good option for families.

The apartments in this complex are of a generous size and would be ideal for families. As a couple we were disappointed with the location and lack of transport options. We had chosen this property in part because of the river shuttle which is no longer available. Whilst the bus shuttle into the city worked well I was left twice stranded later in the evening after not one but two shuttles services did not arrive. It seems a shuttle on demand rather than one that runs to a schedule. The breakfast is quite good quality in a very nice setting on the river. Whilst the pool is clearly older it is peaceful and well situated in the complex.
    Great view and staff

Just spended 3 days in a fantastic apartment with a view over Mekong river. Slept like a baby even though the road is busy but with closed windows you didn't hear anything. Also great staff who was very helpful and a nice restaurant that was not even expensive. Great local life just next door with small street kitchens.
