    Amazing resort, well run
    |

I stayed 2 night here with my family in september 15. Absolutely amazing resort. It is low season but even so the place has an 80% occupancy rate. Having said that, we hardly noticed anyone else around. We had lovely complimentary passionfruit juice on arrival. The fruit is grown in the garden at the resort! The resort has a private beach which is right outside our front door. Even though it rained during our first day there, we actually enjoyed sitting on our veranda reading, listening to the rain and the wave.

The sun came out the next day so we took the resort kayaks out and went snorkelling. You had to paddle for a good 20min to get to a good spot but it is definitely worth it.

The food at the resort is absolutely amazing. Fresh ingredient, top notch cooking. Excellent staff. Not a bad word to say about it. Definitely come back again!
Unspoilt, authentic paradise - lovely hosts and delicious food

Peppercorn Beach Hotel is right on a sandy beach, shaded by coconut palms, on the currently unspoilt island of Phu Quoc, which can be reached via local airlines from Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi). It is remote in a very good way - right next to a small fishing village about a 45 minute drive from the airport (the hotel will arrange a taxi for you - just email in advance).
The owners are a charming couple who are rightly proud of their clean, welcoming hotel. On arrival, once you have sipped the delicious fresh passion fruit juice, you will be shown the amenities - free kayaks, snorkelling equipment, DVDs, books, games (many in English). Like everywhere in Vietnam, the WiFi is free and excellent quality (even in this remote location). The accommodation is right on the beach so you can see the sea from your comfortable bed: with your own ground floor terrace, seats and deck chairs for the beach. Or you can relax in the hammocks hung from the palm trees! The restaurant is a delight with 'Aunty' cooking amazing fresh local food from an immaculate open kitchen ringed with piles of fresh vegetables and fruit: delicately spiced seafood and all the traditional Vietnamese delicious cuisine. Cocktails are also fantastic. I could go on.....this island will not remain unspoilt as Vietnam has plans to maximise its tourist potential - so visit quickly and stay at Peppercorn Beach!
    Idyllic Hideaway

This was our first taste of Phu Quoc Island after the hustle and bustle of Saigon. The resort is very much off the beaten track but only a 30/40 minute transfer from the airport. The journey is definitely worth the wait though as the resort is basically paradise!!
From the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The restaurant on site served the most delicious food, all locally sourced and incredibly fresh and as an added bonus your meals were in the beautiful and quiet setting overlooking the sea.
The apartment was modern, light, airy and with double doors opening to the small sheltered patio before leading to the beach and crystal clear waters.
The beach was combed every morning (I've never experienced this before) and the deckchairs laid out prior to your morning beach walk to breakfast. The only decisions after that were to decide whether to go snorkelling (snorkels/goggles provided), sit on the beach or go on one of the many excursions that could be booked through the guys at reception.
We could not recommend this place highly enough and with only 12 beach front apartments you would be recommended to get in quick to enjoy this little slice of heaven!!
loved, Loved, LOVED this place (and the people who work there)

First, You have to know that this is a fairly remote place. Only twelve rooms. Nothing very nearby...except for a gorgeous beach and solitude. Don't go looking for massages and souvenirs (or even Diet Coke)...not available. But this little resort has a wonderful personal staff and amazing (and affordable) food that is beautifully presented. Breakfast isn't a buffet...it's a delight. Rooms are right on the beach. Staff will arrange for whatever needs you have to be met. Only small minus was that it was nearly impossible for us to regulate the water temperature in our shower properly...water alternated between chilled and scalding...yet, we managed.....

Skip Duong Dong town and come straight to Peppercorn!! I stayed here at the tail-end of a 16 day trip to Vietnam. After the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, this was the ideal place to unwind for a few days before the long journey back to the States. The staff is great, and the rooms are fantastic...they even include DVD players and movies are available in the main lodge, if you are so inclined. The water is beautiful, and the staff does a good job of keeping the beach clean, in spite of the fact that many of the locals do not. There are several hammocks available, which are a great way to laze away the day. Also, the availability of free mountain bikes was a big plus, as the resort is quite far from everything else on the island. The owner, Lin, is an absolutely lovely woman. She not only introduced herself, but helped us stay for an extra night, and seemed genuinely interested in making sure our stay was a great one... which it was!
    Highly recommend!

What a special place! Spent 4 nights at Peppercorn beach resort and could've easily stayed longer. Service from all the staff was wonderful. Everyone was very nice and always had a smile on their faces. The location is remote as other reviewers mentioned but that's we came for. It was great relaxing in our room overlooking the ocean, lounging around in our chairs, going for a swim or kayaking, exploring the neighboring town or just playing with the resort's adorable dogs! The food was fresh and delicious. The mango smoothies and fresh coconuts were so good after a swim or kayaking. I highly recommend Peppercorn Beach resort. It's truly a gem.
FANTASTIC food and SUPER FRIENDLY and HELPFUL staff

I have been to Peppercorn Beach Hotel twice so far and each time I stayed there I felt strongly that I wanted to come back.

Highlights of my stay have been always great service and high quality seafood wonderfully cooked by the hotel owner's aunt called Aunt Seven. I also loved the tropical fruits there, especially sweet mangoes and home-grown coconuts. Staff here are young, friendly attentive, enthusiastic and really helpful.

My friend lost his passport on his way from the airport to the hotel, and the hotel staff Trong and Aunt Seven were very kind to speak to local police for help and support my friend with document printing etc.

I love the family-style setting and management of this hotel and hope it will always be a destination for those who have high demand for quality of food and stay.

    Unique and Excellence

This was my first time travel to Vietnam, while my Vietnamese colleague advised an unique of Phu Quoc island beauty. My search for a stay at Phu Quoc thru Trip Advisor was Peppercorn whose location is known a bit isolated from the town, but I intended to stay where the nature well is reserved. My family (my wife, two children) all arrived at the very late night of Aug 2nd with warm welcomed by the hotel. In the next morning, we are so excited with great beauty of sun rise and the nature (all the nature greatly-red colored and turning into spectrum of colors) thru the glass room door which allows to see the beach, far sea and sky fully (all the rooms facing just waterfront). Most greater things waited for us after a sunrise, which are smiling staffs and amazing foods. My family greatly appreciate how the hotel ownership and staffs make us feel staying at paradise. Even though English isn't their mother language, the communication by English was not an issue. Their smile, warm service and unforgettable personal contact are unique. Even we were a bit full at stomach, we tried various foods every meal time as lunch and dinner without skipping. We ordered a special foods (meal) each dinner in advance, as big tiger prawns, size-big sea bass, blue crabs cooked by local Vietnamese way that flavor so special and delicious. All Vietnamese foods use the extremely fresh local vegetables, materials, vinegars and famous Phu Quock fish sauce. We enjoyed relax at hammock, kayak with heavy waves under rain, swimming and mountain biking with my son over 32km. My family yesterday returned to home but takes a Vietnamese tea in this morning while talking the time in Peppercorn. My family couldn't forget the Peppercorn forever, and my wife asks me to plan next visit here soon. I appreciate Peppercorn on behalf of my family, and wish their continual maintaining and developing such the quality and prosperity. Oncemore I'd like to especially thank to Madam who served daily great meals there and arrange excellent tea and pepper that our family enjoy at Shanghai.

    In addition to greatness of Peppercorn, I place some advise and tips here;
    some points to consider
    - since some garbage (small amount) coming from far sea or sea farm, even there are regular beach cleaning by the hotel, but I suggest adding one more time per day.
    - As the nature is, some sector has rocks under water and some area with soft sand in the beach. So if the hotel provide a sign to show the areas of sand and rock under water, that will be great to help swimmers, even though visual to an extent at the present.
    - all four mountain bikes ready to use.

    Tips;
    - Enjoy the meals here, their foods quality should be at the best level. You may reserve your special meals out of the menu in advance.
    - Vietnamese tea, pepper, coffee and fish sauce to bring into your home (if you may use Vietnam Airline, then fish sauce is denied to carry and check bag both).
    - Kayak and Mountain bikes free to use anytime and excellent either sunny and even rainy relying on your adventure. When biking, bring towels, water, tissue and some cookies. The biking route is off-road, but wide and not bad condition in the forest.
    Enjoy your holidays.

Visiting Phu Quoc for the first time my brother and I spent a night in Duong Dong town before coming to Peppercorn. The fact is we hated the dusty run-down Duong Dong town and Loved the relaxing and comfortable Peppercorn resort. In fact we ended up booking an extra night. It was just what we were looking for - a quiet, comfortable tropical resort where we could de-stress and unwind before heading home. The owner (Lin) was especially welcoming with her perfect English and attention to every detail to ensure we had a great stay.

Here are the pros and cons.

    Pros:
    Relaxing
Comfortable, clean and modern beach houses with western toilet and shower
    Steps to the beach/water
    Good food on-site
    Reasonably priced food, water, drinks
    Free use of kayaks
Free us of nice mountain bikes
    Walk to small fishing village
    Great host
    Great staff
    Free wifi
Free use of DVD's (we watched the final episode of LOST!)

Cons = none really but here are some suggested improvements.
    Areas of Improvement:
Menu: The menu needs more western dishes cooked western style. Example = pizza, burgers, sandwiches, etc. After 2 weeks eating Vietnamese food every westerner craves western food.

English: The staff needs to improve their English when it comes to helping guests order food. Several times my brother and I each ordered an egg and only one came... Once we ordered 'fried rice' and it was late so we asked about it and the staff didn't understand and brought us french fries.. This area needs some work.

Beach Cleanup: It may not be possible but would be good if some of those fishing platforms could relocate as they reduce the view. Also, it would be good for the staff to remove the sharp rocks that lead to the sandbar in the waist deep water. Only a couple sections are clear and if you don't walk in the right place those rocks are very sharp.

We really enjoyed our stay at Peppercorn and if anyone is looking for a nice relaxing place to enjoy the tropical island of Phu Quoc they would enjoy Peppercorn too.
Paradise, incredible food and wonderful staff

My husband and I booked to stay here for 3 nights in the midst of our trip in Vietnam and Cambodia so we could have a few days of relaxation. Although the weather was not great it did not hamper what was an idyllic 3 days and we wish we could have stayed longer. After doing our research we realised that the west coast of phu quoc has become very touristy and built up so we were looking for somewhere remote. This was it! The beach is deserted, the sea warm and unspoilt and the individual beach rooms means that you feel at home. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. Although some of those English is still basic they really try and We urge you to try and speak to them to help them practiSe as they are so willing to learn. The highlight was the food-amazing fresh delicious food for breakfast lunch and dinner. Why else would we want to go anywhere else! To top this off, as a huge animal lover it was refreshing to see the staff treat the hotel dogs with such love and respect. Despite this the dogs are so friendly but leave guests alone unless you want to play with them. Pepper, leilo and Sophie we will miss you ❤️ thank you again for such a wonderful stay
