Beach area resort, very economic and lovely

Located a block infront of the bveach area, this hotel offers a wonderful Pool and restaurant.
The rooms a a bit dated, but quite comfortable and very cheep in the winter months.

There are several restaurants in the neighborhood, es[ecially across the street at the beach.

All in all, it is almost a 5 star for old standards and still a very good deal....
    Two stars too many

The approach and lobby of this city centre hotel are impressive enough that you are not surprised to see the four stars proudly displayed below the hotel name. But venture past the lobby and this hotel deserves two stars at best.

Our room on the second floor was tired and shabby. The fat screen TV was the first indication that the furnishings would be dated. And so it went on - the veneer on the wardrobe doors was badly chipped with no attempt to repair it. The bathroom was clean but showed its age through permanent discolouration of the bath and surrounding areas.

Although a kettle was provided, there were no cups or mugs, but then there was no tea or coffee either - just instant noodles in a pot. The fridge was so noisy that we had to unplug it overnight to ensure a reasonable nights sleep.

The restaurant is vast, and was laid out for a wedding when we arrived, so they had to dismantle a table for us to have a very average meal in the evening. Breakfast was also very average, with entertainment provided by the local cockroach attempting to get a free meal.

The one plus about this hotel is the price of drinks in the bar. Served by a lady in air stewardess uniform, the beer is less than half the price we have encountered in other Vietnam City hotels.

I think "past it's sell-by date" best sums up my opinion of this hotel.
    Good hotel in Vinh

If you must visit Vinh, then this is a good place to stay. Staff are friendly and helpful, rates are reasonable and the adjoining restaurant provides good food. No problems sleeping despite having a room facing the main road. Wi-fi worked OK and the breakfast was fine.
    Clean and Functional

This hotel is located on a busy road and the window seals don't work very well, which can make it a bit noisy at night (pack earplugs!). The blocakout curtains were fantastic! I did not use the pool, but we did eat beside the pool one night and the food and service was great.
The Business Centre were very accomodating when I needed to do some printing and the staff overall were very helpful.
Breakfast was ok, wifi also worked well and the rooms were very clean.
Nice but needs a bit of TLC

I like this place and the staff and I had a good stay, but I have marked it as a three-star average for the following reasons. It's a nice hotel, extremely friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, okay wifi, not bad breakfast. All in all a decent place to stay, but the hotel needs a bit of work to get it up to standard. The pool is nice, in a small garden area to the side. But it doesn't have a filter, or if it does it's not used. So the water is still and a bit cloudy. The pool guy cleans it every day (from 3 to 4) and they say the water is changed every 14 days, but it doesn't look clean, which is a pity. The whole pool area needs attention. It would be great if they cleared up the tables and chair around the edge. There are decorations for events that are covered in dust. It just needs a bit of TLC and then it would be great. They have a gym but it's closed. The breakfast was okay, and the meals were delicious. Try the local Da Lat wine - wonderful and cheap. Stir fried fillet of beef with vegetables is great. My room was fine 214. Cleaned well, fresh sheets each day if you want them. Loads of towels. Shower okay. The wifi is strong when it works but sometimes fails. I had to ask them to reboot the router near my room and that was fine. I would stay there again but will try the Son Lam a few blocks towards town because they have some great deals at the moment.
    A good experience

We stayed one night in this hotel during our Vietnam tour and were not disappointed at all! The room was excellent (only mind the hot water usage, there is hardly enough supply for two persons).
Since it was newyear's eve we had dinner with the whole group of 20 and were all enchanted by the surprises made for us by the staff.
A real excellent place to go!
