    Don't do it!

    Our sapa tour was booked by our hotel in hanoi. We dis not know what hotel we were going to stay until we go here. The room was very ordinary, balcony door would not lock, towels were old and felt damp. Lunch was no good. Bed was hard and not comfortable. 2 power points in room and one was for tv. We only had one night here thank goodness. Better to find room elsewhere .
    Mediocre and melancholy

    My room was pre-booked for me for one of two nights in Sa Pa and if I had known what to expect I would have changed to one of the many other hotels in this scenic location. The taxi stopped at the end of a narrow lane which led to the hotel entrance and reception. I had to carry my baggage and on arrival at reception I encountered gloomy unwelcoming staff. I was given my key and had to find my room by myself. The room was reasonable and the bed comfortable but had no air-conditioning - just a "stand alone" fan. There was a window and door onto a small balcony and I was hoping for a spectacular view but not so. All I looked down onto was a scrub area littered with rubbish. My worst nightmare was in the en-suite bathroom which had a shower above a bath with no anti-slip mat and brought back memories of a serious accident I had in a hotel a few years ago. The ground floor restaurant area was mediocre and had no views of the wonderful scenery. I managed to get one beer in the restaurant (no bar) before retiring but as there were no other customers I clearly sensed that I was holding up the staff from getting off home. No meals were included in my booking so I ate at a great Italian pizza restaurant just around the corner. The following morning the reception area was strewn with baggage in rope nets and cardboard boxes were stacked ready for collection giving it a definite uninviting appearance. This was the most expensive hotel on my tour around Vietnam and the worst regarding value for money.

    A simple 'no'....Unless you are a backpacker traveling around with your girlfriend or best friend

    We were there : not clean , untidy and none responsive /none service oriented stuff, lousy breakfast and no safe

    Choose your accommodation with care

    I spent 2 nights in Sapa staying at the Royal View Hotel which was organised by Ha long Booking Tours (Mr Victor).
    We organised our tour from Australia relying on this tour company to organize the entire trip and parts of it were ok and other parts not so good, this hotel was just plain terrible, dirty rooms ripped and moldy curtains, balcony door wouldn't lock or even shut properly the heater in the room didn't work and when I went to reception to ask for a heater (the temp was 8C) we had wet clothes from the rain they told me to go back and keep trying to get it to work, needless to say it didn't and was never going to work.
    The dinning room wasn't heated and it was very cold you couldn't sit there to eat and feel comfortable, the meals there were very basic we only had one meal there, in the hall way to our room the power switchboard was hanging off the wall very dangerous.

    Horrendous customer service and unhelpful staff

    My friends and I stayed here for a night. Five of us made two rooms: 207, 208. Room 207: spacious, two-bedded, large TV set, water boiler, no air-conditioned, no wifi, no hair dryer, nice balcony. Telephone with no line to hotel reception. Music all night from the close-by bar. Room 208: Ill-maintained, mold- and fungi-smell, unable to breathe(view overlooking trashy and construction area). Bathroom the same smell. Wifi connected.
    First, we complained and managed to change from 208 into 101. Three-bedded. Good view. No bathtub. Maybe the best here.
    Later, I asked a receptionist guy(don't know the name) if the hotel had a larger pair of flipper. he would find them,he said. But I went out, and came back(3 hours later), and requested for them, he had yet to tell another security guy Tuong to check the flippers in the stock room. Tuong, surfing the net, talked over his back he already did. When? How?
    Another one, Dan, another receptionist guy, stood at the entrance gate and eagerly asked us into choosing set menu at the next-door restaurant. When asked to recommend which street foods were Sapa specialties, he told us that the restaurant had all of the Sapa "specialities".
    This morning, when I needed to use the computer, but Tuong, the security guy, was on his guard of it, watching YouTube videos.
    Money stolen in room 406

    Me and my girlfriend went on a 1 night trip to Sapa and were assigned this hotel, we got dinner as part of the package for the Sapa trip however we got charged a ridiculous price for a drink in the restaurant (it was actually cheaper to buy the drink in the minibar upstairs), afterwards we were shown our room which didn't live up to its 3* claim, the only redeeming feature was the incredible view. The sheets had stains, the air con didn't work and to top it all off there was a cockroach in the room. The worst part was yet to follow, during my stay £40 got stolen out of my wallet whilst I was on a trek or perhaps even eating in their restaurant, disgusting behaviour from hotel staff. The breakfast we were given was awful, the food had no flavour and must've been out for hours before serving time. I cannot stress how much to avoid this hotel if possible.
    Did not feel like a 3 star hotel

    First, the staff were very friendly and the service was ok. We had booked a double deluxe room. While the room was spacious, the bed linen were not particularly clean, as well as the towels, there were a couple of stains on them.
    The doors to the room and the balcony were not very safe as for example the door to the balcony had a very flimsy and half broken lock.
    Where I am sure there was a great view a while back, there is now a tall hotel that blocks the view from the hotel (at least our room on the first floor).
    We asked them to keep our luggage after checking out because we were on a trekking trip, and it was kept in the reception hall - there was no separate room where luggage was kept. Overall the hotel made a bit of a dated impression.
    Food served in the restaurant (included in the trip we had booked with goasia, was ok but not as nice as in other places).
    Money Stolen in room 407

    I stayed with my best friend for one night, and our money was stolen from the room while we were having dinner just downstairs in their restaurant. It is a scam. They don't do anything about it, and we suspect it is an inside job. They carefully go to your room and go through your things and take money from the wallet. They make sure they don't take all your money so not to be obvious but you will only figure it out when you start counting your money when your out shopping or paying for something. I do not recommend this hotel, I have been in Sapa twice and nothing like this ever crossed me. Only in Royal View Hotel in Sapa.

    Another is there in no Royal View at all if your looking for one and you can hear your neighbor so we didn't sleep well.
    Part of a Sapa tour

    The hotel was dirty and the food mediocre. The view from our deluxe room would have been great if it wasn't for the phone tower and huge water cylinders. Not recommended. The room was included in a Sapa package which was very good.
    Poor service and unhelpful staff... Not worth it!!

    Joined the Good Morning Sapa tour (2 days 1 night) during our recent trip to Sapa and here is my reivew of the place:

    - 1 single bed and 1 double bed
    - Fan, heater, fridge, electric blanket, TV, hairdryer provided
    - Shampoo, shower gel, soap, toothbrush, cotton buds provided
    - No air-conditioning
    - Wifi in room and lobby

    - Sapa town
    - Nearby shops, restaurants and convenience store
    - 10 mins walk to the lake

    - Unknown as it is part of the tour package
    - Price of the tour package for 2 days 1 night was USD 139 which included meals, accommodation and hiking with a local guide (prices subjected to change)

    - Big spacious room
    - Good location with easily accessible food and shopping

    - During check-in, the manager informed us that we had the room until 3:00 p.m. the next day to check out, for us to shower after we return from the hike. The next morning, just before we left for the hike, the lady at the reception insisted we check out at 10:00 a.m. We informed her that the manager told us that check-out was 3:00 p.m. as we had to come back and shower after the hike. She rudely told us to check out as they had guests coming in (which we understood) and informed us she will give us a temporary room to shower and change when we came back from the hike. The "room" turned out to be the public bathroom without a lock. When we checked with the manager to clarify if we misunderstood that we had the room until 3:00 p.m. he just kept quiet and handed us a towel.

    The experience with this hotel was really disappointing, We did not mind checking out at 10:00 a.m. as we would have packed and ready to go if they told us. The lady at the reception was really rude. Additionally, the bathroom is designed that the air vent would face the corridor of the hotel so if anyone in the room took a dump, people who were walking pass could smell it. Not a pleasant experience I would say.

    I would not stay in this hotel if I ever come back to Sapa.
