    Nice budget hotel
    |

Me and my friend chose this place because we were arriving with the night bus from Hanoi at 5am and that was the only place that offered early check-in (if the room is available of course). When we arrived the hotel was (of course) not open yet but we called the phone number written on a paper at the door and a guy opened the door immediately and handed out the keys. The room are quite modern and comfortable, better than I expected. The bathroom is basic but the water is very hot which was great as it was raining almost all day long. The TV is tiny but I didn't mind it. We had a big window facing the street. The hotel is located in a small road off the main road, very close to all the restaurants and many places to rent decent motorbikes nearby.
The entrance of the hotel looks a bit shabby but nevertheless clean. I don't think they offer breakfast but as mentioned before, there are many restaurants nearby. The hotel owner also offered us a hiking tour but as it was raining so much we didn't feel like going on a hike so I can't say anything about that.
If you're looking for a comfortable budget place - go for it!
    Comfortable, clean rest stop

The Pumpkin Sapa Hotel (which I believe is also affiliated to Pumpkin Travel Agency in Hannoi - who were extremely helpful in helping us arrange train tickets around Vietnam) was a comfortable, clean, cheap hotel. Free wifi, good breakfasts (choose the pancakes, although they weren't included in our room price but good value) and good location-away from the tourist hoardes.
If you need a good budget hotel prior to a trek, would be a good choice.
Scammed out of money by this hostel

When we stayed here the rooms were small but clean. Before we checked out we were asked where we were going next by the guy running Pumpkin and we said the Lao Cai train station to go to Hanoi. He said he would book us a minibus to the train station for the following day. This costs 50,000d each, which is what it cost when we came into Sapa in a minibus so it seemed fair enough. He asked us to pay him the money for the bus ticket when we booked it with him. When the time came to get the bus it turned out the tickets were only 30,000d each so he made 20,000d per ticket from us. Also, it wasn't a minibus he booked us it was a coach bus which made a lot of stops and we nearly missed out train. Avoid this hostel.
Comfortable place to spend one night

We stayed here as part of a tour the rooms are spacious and have fans to cool you down when it gets warm. The staff were very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. The downside is that the beds were all either very hard or had springs sticking out from them. But we were all so tired from trekking that we slept like babies anyway! I would probably stay again.
Good place to stay in SAPA

Good place to stay in SAPA : cheap, clean and quiet, it's a very good deal to stay in Sapa.
The Manager is always smiling, and can help you to rent a motobike, or for the bus tickets (you have to know that there is no tickets for the bus from Sapa to Dien Bien, so all bookers come with the passengers to make them boarding : he was the best one, we could board the first on the bus, and choice our places).
    No flaws!

Always you seem to find a small detail anywhere you stay, not here. The room was very clean, comfortable and lots of space. Cable TV with wide selection of channels, also in English.
We got there very early and although check-in was not until 11am we got the room at 8am.
Water pressure, great view of the mountains, there was really no flaws.
    Don't hesitate and book.
    Clean and quiet

Nice (small) hotel. It's clean and in a quiet street, just around the corner from where all the bars ans restaurants are. So: easy to walk to a bar, but also nice for sleeping. Wifi only works in the lobby, that could improve. Bed a bit bumpy (old boxspring?).

But for 16 us dollar a night for a double: well it's just fine.
    Just for a bus

I came into pumpkin looking to book a bus to moung lay from Sapa. He was the third place I tried to see if price differences existed.

Mr. Hung was very friendly, helped book the night bus immediately and have us a room for free to rest in and wait for the bus. This was at 8 am. The ticket price was the same everywhere, which is not always the case. Especially between Sapa and Hanoi.

The room he gave us was average, but I have no complaints because it was free.

He is also patient enough to help you learn phrases in Vietnamese if you wish to do so.

He is located off of the main tourist roads and market so it is quite peaceful.

I cannot attest to a nights stay, but Mr. Hung is a genuine human.
    Good value,friendly owner!!

    A decent place to stay

I booked the Pumpkin hotel online after seeing decent reviews on Agoda. When I arrived the hotel felt very empty and didn't have much of a vibe to it but the room on the upside was bright and spacious. The room is a bit cold however they do provide an electric blanket. The bathroom felt clean and the location is just off the main road which isn't too bad. Overall the hotel is a decent place to stay in Sapa.
