This hotel was THE WORST place I've stayed in throughout my whole Asian travels.

Arrived in around midnight after a tiring sleeping bus journey from Ho Chi Minh City to be welcomed by the most unhelpful ignorant staff. I understand that we arrived late but to be grunted at on arrival was not the best start.

Beds were covered in hair with spiders crawling the walls.

    Breakfast was the worst yet

Following morning when we enquired about transport to the Cambodian border were pushed into a taxi in which we were told would be 500000vnd which the meter read 330000 & abandoned in a random village no where near the boarder. Thank god for the helpful villagers who offered us a lift on the back of their bikes for 1dollar.

All this heartache because of the scam artist of a receptionist !!!
Horrible place thats preys on tourists

Landed in this "hotel" after a sleeper bus from HoiChinMing city at midnight. It was a complete ghost town with very unfriendly locals. We eventually sourced a local taxi to drive us to our hotel 3km from the bus station. Chau Doc looked like it was under construction. When we arrived the hotel we were met with the most unfriendly staff who were rude and unfriendly. As 5 girls travelling we were so freaked out by the place we wanted to stay in the one room. The hotel is huge but seemed like we were the only ones in it. We were so tired after the bus that we all slept soundly. We were told on check in that we could get the boat the next morning to phnom penh, but that was not the case the next morning. After a disappointing breakfast we met with the rudest hotel receptionist ever. She told us we had to stay a 2nd night because the boat is full and we are too late. Only after regrouping and deciding we certainly did not want to stay in this hotel another night we insisted on a taxi to the cambodian border. She was not too happy to hear this and was very obvious she had a scam going on. She finally rang a taxi and charges us 500k dong for 30km, only saving grace was the taxi driver forgot to turn off the meter and actually was only 200k dong. Not a very happy taxi driver when we refused to pay the extra and turned out he dropped us to the market not the border. We managed to convince 5 villagers to drop us to the border on their motorbikes for $1. To say chau doc and the hotel put a sour taste in our mouth in leaving vietnam is an understatement. Try not to stay here if you can, i recommend getting a flight straight from HCMC to Phnom penh and never going near chau doc. As i write this i am happily in phnom penh and the people are fab!!!

This hotel was a bit of a disappointmentin one word dysfunctional

Several things in our room were not working. The bathroom light was burnt out, the ceiling lights burnt out ( 2 out of four), one ceiling light above the bed, one night table lamp burnt out. The clock on the wall-dead.
There is no ventilation bathroom. There is a fan in the bathroom but no electrical hook up.
The bathroom floor mat is black and dirty.
The bellboy was rude but at least the girl at reception was pleasant and friendly.
The room doesn't have a safe and the mini bar is minimal. There are no other room amenities beside the TV.The room itself is mediocre at best but this supposed to be a three star. The safety lock on the entrance door is gone.
On the plus side the beds are comfortable.
Lovely rooms - but food poisoned

We stayed here for one night in December. As mentioned below, there where hardly any people there. One other family came and joined for dinner, but we were the only ones for breakfast.
Since we were on a prebooked tour in Mekong Delta, we got dinner included at the hotel. They served us a various of Vietnamese dishes, witch we shared. And there where heaps of food. Unluckely some pieces of the fish were not cooked properly. I got food poisoned, which ruined rest of my trip in Mekong Delta.
A quiet stop over if you are en route

Hotel is in a odd spot but surrounds very interesting and if you have a strong stomach eat in the local market else the hotel had a large menu at pretty reasonable prices
Rooms nice enough staff very friendly in spite of language barrier and try hard
Very quiet in terms of location and whilst huge it had few guests which hopefully won't put people off
Very nice Hotel best hotel closest to Chau Doc

I read the reviews on this hotel that are on tripadvisor, This is how I see it,
The Hotel is new and a very nice 4.5 star. Our room was a VIP room and it was fantastic! Meals very good! Staff are friendly, Being a new hotel thier English was a bit poor, We got by.
It is a 10 minute walk in to town, The new 5 star Hotel down the road would be 30 minute walk or more.
The walk from the Hotel to the centre of the small village of Chau Doc is interesting. Locals cooking on the streets, markets and shops, Location of this Hotel is just fine, if you are after a better hotel.
