    Average hotel

Average hotel but still clean and functional for a a lower rate. Location is not bad, near the Opera House. The room was quite big for Vietnam standards. And of course, you barely get a view if you don't get a deluxe room. The view I had was on the neighbour building. It's not a bad hotel if you're on a budget and you do get what you pay for.
Ok for a one or two night stay at most

Stayed at this hotel as part of a tailored tour for our group of 12 friends - reminded us all of 'faulty towers'. The staff tried their best and the restaurant manager went out of his way to be accommodating but the fact remains the hotel is in need of a make over. The room we stayed in had a 'funky musty' smell which we assumed was the result of the mildew stain on the wall near one of the beds. At least our air conditioning, toilet and shower worked, unlike others who had their toilet block, shower block and aircon not work (which is vital in near 40 degree heat) All were remedied eventually though. Did not leave money in the safe as it was not bolted down and we had visions of the staff just picking it up and taking it down to be opened at their leisure! Not too sure on their security either as we had teenage girls stay in a room next to the parents and they had a stranger knock on their door, who then introduced himself after wandering up the back stairs! All in all, we were only there 2 nights, the rooms were relatively clean, the breakfast in the morning was adequate, the location was close to the markets and food outlets (we were warned NOT to eat from the street vendors) - Jollybees is good for a quick cheap meal (their version of a fast food restaurant) and is just on the next corner. I probably would not recommend this hotel to anyone for a longer stay or anyone who isn't prepared for some 'bumps' in their holiday.
    Underwhelming...

We stayed here for two nights as it was the chosen hotel for the tour we had booked. Reception was fine, although not particularly friendly.

Unfortunately for us, our room was directly across from the elevator and on the same floor as the gym (busy!) so it was quite noisy. This was exacerbated by the fact that the door to the room opens directly to where the bed is. So we were literally sleeping right next to the elevator and hallway leading to the gym. The window in our bathroom didn't quite close properly either so that let street noise in.

The view from our room was of the neighbouring office workers. The room had an indescribable smell.

We didn't try the breakfast as we were almost certain that it wouldn't be good, and there are an abundance of cheap restaurants / street vendors available in the area.

We would not recommend this hotel at all.
    Money Stolen
    |

The hotel was brilliant; the rooms were reasonably spacious, the staff friendly and the available food was lovely. Also, the hotel was very close to many things a tourist would like to visit, such as the Independence Palace and museums. If it weren't for the money stolen, I would have given this hotel 5 stars, it was amazing.
However, I visited Vietnam as a group of 34 (a school trip) and at least a third of this amount had money taken from their rooms. I was lucky; having only $25 stolen, but the person I was sharing with had $40 and £40 taken from her purse, which had been inside a zipped compartment (which her bras where in-the cleaners had obviously been searching in her belongings) in her zipped suitcase. The cleaners had taken mostly English notes, so it wasn't until the last evening that people noticed (we were only checking our dollars and dong because we didn't think that a Vietnamese person would steal £) and the realisation ruined our last night in this otherwise overly hotel. Some people in our group even had their money stolen while it was in their safes in their rooms, as the cleaners had master keys to be able to open them.
Because of all this I have to recommend that you do not stay at this hotel, even though if they hired better cleaners I would have given it an excellent rating. It is also worth noting that the cleaners didn't do that good of a job-when they weren't stealing as under the beds it was covered in dust.
    Meh!

Only staying here as part of my G adventures tour- the first room was horrible! DO NoT stay on the M floor if ur even remotely a light sleeper- it's where the workers congregate and drop off supplies and pick up supplies- I heard non stop conversations on walkie talkie- after long flight- this room was a nightmare -
They did change me as I couldn't take a whole day there - rooms
Are basic and its a more quiet area than backpackers row near market -
    Good location basic hotel

I stayed here as part of a tour group, had a twin room for two nights and a double for the last. The bedding had some stains but was clean, windows are a bit mouldy but the bathroom was clean and the aircon worked. It did stop at one point but got maintenance to come fix it. The rooms are very very basic but the beds are comfy and the location is good. The breakfast was good, although they did clear mine away while i was in the bathroom. Overall i would say if you want something cheap and in a good location and are willing to compromise on the quality that this would be a good hotel.
    Stay somewhere else!!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights as part of a G adventures tour of Vietnam. Despite the breakfast being very good the rooms are subpar at best, specifically the bathrooms. The shower's drain seemed to be blocked which caused the bathroom to flood. Asked reception to fix the problem but all they could do was come to mop up the mess. Most others in our tour group had the same problem as well as having no hot water at all one day we were there. G adventures tour was great so it was a shame to finish off on a sour note in this hotel, will be recommending that they change the hotel for Saigon in their future tours.
    try and avoid

We also stayed here as part of a package tour and it was very unimpressive. The room was dingy and didn't feel clean. On the plus side it is well located. However, a set of earphones was stolen from inside a backpack. We were warned not to leave any valuables around but did not think to lock up a set of headphones. Th person had to open up the bad to find them.
    Utterly disappointing.

I arrived at the hotel in the afternoon and before having supper wanted to take a shower. Unfortunately there was no hot water. I attempted to call down to reception but unfortunately I couldn't find the number; there was no available information about room service, reception, housekeeping or breakfast. Nothing.

Before leaving the room to go downstairs to speak to somebody on reception I attempted to put my valuable items in the safe. It not open. Someone came to fix it within 15 minutes. As he left, he walked to the other wall and put the AC on, without being instructed to do so, which I did not like. The safe still does not work.

Upon returning from supper, the hot water still wasn't working. Having returned to reception, I was informed that the maintenance staff had gone home so I would have to wait until the following day. In addition, the window in the bathroom is bolted open so you cannot close it, I can hear the conversations and bathroom habits of the people in the next room, the drain in my bathroom rattles constantly and there are stains on the bed throw and cushions. Paint/wall paper are peeling and the place is tired and dirty.

Frustrated and annoyed, I returned to my room only to see a huge insect crawling across the floor. I immediately went back to reception and requested a new room. Fully booked. Alas, I still have 2 more days booked at this hotel with, hopefully, a room change tomorrow. Before that I have a sleepless night ahead of me. I do not know how I will survive. Needless to say, I do not recommend it to anybody.
    Pretty decent hotel

I stayed in a twin room as part of a group tour, where we were greeted by a bat as soon as we stepped out of the lift! Don't let that put you off though, we didn't see him again during our stay. I found that the room itself was spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, amazing shower. We were on the 6th floor and had a view of the building next door, with Saigon skyline if you stuck your head out. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide range on offer. That said, I only really eat toast when I'm away so am not the best judge. Location was also good, 10 minute walk to war museum and cathedral.
