    Will be back

I stayed with my mom for 2 nights in this hotel. The view from the balcony is amazing! we saw the Dragon Bridge breath out fire at 9pm on Saturday. I got to say though, there's not much light in the room but you'll get used to it. The breakfast was okay, they don't have bacon and sausages but others is fine. The check in and out was fast. We will go back at some points :D
    Ruins: Vacancy

Before going to Da Nang, I looked over the reviews on this website and was already a bit biased towards the Bamboo Green Riverside. Upon arrival all of the things that I'd read came flooding back to me. The first thing I noticed was the dirty reception desk. To me, this is a bad omen. The reception desk should be immaculate, for it is THE focal point of all traveler's attention on arrival.

The staff were the second thing that made me a bit standoffish. They were as old and tired looking as the hotel itself. They weren't friendly, even though we had contacts who worked there. When they were civil, it seemed strained and put on. I can only imagine how someone who had no connections in the hotel would feel. I'd want to get the hell out immediately.

We got a room with three beds and there was one air conditioner struggling away to recycle the stale atmosphere therein. The stuffiness of the room was almost palpable. My three year old son got sick from it and I felt quite stuffy headed myself. Being a large room, I didn't think it would be stuffy, but it faced the wrong direction and was pelted with the stifling afternoon sun.

The bathroom wasn't too bad. It had hot running water in the bath, as well as in the wash basin. The cheapness of the shower curtain rod was a misery that I came to recognize later when I hung some clothes to dry (the laundry service was very expensive).

Watching TV was another sad story. The receptacle which it was plugged into was bad and the cord often came out. This hotel was a sad dreary place, full of cigarette smoke wafting from the lobby. The lack of ventilation made it even more dreary.

    I won't stay there again.
    Mauvaise nuit

Good older hotel - like the position

Have stayed here twice a year so know it well to be honest it is a bit tired but on fourth floor great view of river it can be a bit noisy when the fishing fleet goes past but the chug chuging can be soothing
.Also there are three bamboo green hotels in Danang this one is in my opinion the best

But it is a business hotel mostly frequented by Vietnamese with some western groups but as there are many newer hotel built in last five years you have many choices now in Danang.

They have six rooms per floor so not a large hotel but lift works and the staff are very helpful
In regard to breakfast as refereed to by another reviewer it is very asian not western focused so get to like Pho.

Close to the markets and restaurants and great view of the hussle and bussle of the Bridge looks great at night.
you get what you pay for but the rooms are good size and clean and comfy so if you do stay in Danang this hotel is a option to consider.
Ok, but don't try the breakfast.

Stayed one night. The room was a good size with a balcony that looked to the river and the ever-changing coloured bridge. The air conditioner leaked onto one side of my bed, and it took 2 visits by maintenance to fix it. But I still had half a wet bed. The breakfast was terrible. They don't even try to keep the food hot; eggs are just left on the table to go cold with no burners. I would look elsewhere next time, which is unlikely as Da Nang is not a touristy place.

Unpleasant staff, dirty bathroom, breakfast is a definate no no

My sister and I had planned to stay here for the duration of our week trip in Da Nang, however ended up checking out early and moving to another hotel. We stayed in a room on Level 3 with river views which costs us 700,000VND per night. The location is fantastic situated opposite the Bach Dang river which lights up at night. So if you decide to stay here (though I beg you reconsider) book yourself a room with river views so you can sit on the balcony and watch the lights on the bridge and the motorbikes zooming around. There are shops, restaurants, bars and markets (cho Hang) within walking distance (say 10mins). However, besides its location the hotel has very little going for it. It needs to be said that this is a local government owned-and -run hotel which explains alot of the experience we had here. The hotel looks rundown (built circa 20-30 years ago) and I 'm guessing it has been renovated some years ago, but it has not been well maintained. The reception is small and located to the right of the hotel entrance and staffed by one person at any one time. There is no real foyer as such but a few chairs put together in the centre of the room for your guests to sit and wait for you. Breakfast is TERRIBLE and I am appalled they charge 100,000VND per person as you get no variety and any foods on offer are cold and not tasty. I recommend you find breakfast elsewhere which will cost you a fraction of this and be much tastier! Decent size room with a seating area for guests to sit. Beds are good size too but be warned, mattresses are hard (as I found most of hotels in Vietnam). Without the key in the socket (and you are given only one key), no power is generated in the room so everytime we left our room everything would switch off including the fridge which we found frustrating as we couldn't keep our drinks chilled or fruits fresh. Airconditioning is weak so you need to give it a good 20 mins before you even start feel any coolness. Ok, my biggest gripe is the cleanliness of the bathroom. It was a good size with a bathtub/shower and large basin area, however it was very dirty. Everything was starting to rust and there was ALOT of grime on the walls (everywhere in fact). I believe the cleaners simply come in to change the sheets and refill toilet paper, because we found they did not clean our rooms well. Staff were unresponsive requests for addtional toilet paper or extra clean blankets, and when asked to assist with booking a taxi they simply told us it was going to be hard to book one and suggest we go out to the streets to find one ourselves. We feel the staff are there to get paid and not interested in providing any level of service. Everytime my sister and I returned to the hotel we would find ourselves being stared at the male staff which frankly is rude but also intimidating at times. Free internet is offered but everytime we went to use it there was always some sort of problem. If you are looking for a basic hotel and not too concerned with unhelpful staff and dirty rooms in exchange for a great location then yes, maybe consider this hotel. If you want a friendly and clean hotel then I suggest look @ others. Happy travels.

    Decent lodging.

This is really a Vietnamese business man's hotel but location on Hun River is ideal. Mid way between Hue and Hoi An. Rooms are huge; breakfast is better than good. Staff was very nice. Not flashy, just a great value for the money. Never tried the resturant except for breakfast. I would go back.
    Don't bother

Room ok, reasonably clean. Really for business people, not tourists. Staff very unhelpful, bordering on rude. Food in restaurant appalling. Don't bother eating there. Can only cook one thing and call it everything and charge what they like. Try to find a small guesthouse instead.
